State of CSS 2026
The State of CSS 2026 survey gathered responses from 4,902 developers between May and June 2026. Key findings: Anchor Positioning topped both the favorite new CSS feature list and the list of features developers want but can't use due to limited browser support. View Transitions and the new if() function face similar adoption barriers. Notably, CSS developers are bucking the AI trend — most respondents still write CSS manually, citing AI's poor quality output for CSS. The Interop 2026 initiative is expected to improve cross-browser support for many of these sought-after features.
