Agent hooks are in public preview, allowing custom commands at key points during agent sessions via a hooks.json file. Auto-approve support for MCP reduces manual approvals. Support for AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md instruction files has been added, along with a /memory slash command. Auto model selection is now GA for all plans, and a thinking panel for extended-reasoning models like Codex provides visibility into reasoning. Additional UX improvements include a smoother sign-in flow, better chat panel layout, and Windows ARM support.
