Make Visual Studio look the way you want

Visual Studio 2026 (18.7) introduces a new Theme colors options page that lets developers customize individual Fluent color tokens directly inside the IDE without extensions or JSON file editing. Changes apply live, are saved per-theme, and can be reset per-token. New color tokens allow independent styling of tab and window headers from the shell chrome. Customizations are stored as JSON files that can be shared with teammates by dropping them into a specific local folder. A Blue Steel theme pack is also available on the marketplace showcasing the new retro blue look.
