Auree, a company building a cloud-independent platform for deploying and operating open source databases inside customers' own cloud accounts, has joined MariaDB Foundation as a Silver Sponsor. Auree's Bring Your Own Cloud model lets organizations pick their cloud provider, region, and infrastructure while automating provisioning, monitoring, backups, clustering, and failover. Its platform uses a lightweight 2+1 architecture (two database nodes plus a witness node) for automatic failover without needing three full database servers, building on expertise from Tungsten Cluster.
