# Marvell Introduces New AI Memory Infrastructure Solutions

**[Embedded.com](https://daily.dev/sources/embedded-com)** · 3 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Marvell Technology has expanded its AI memory infrastructure portfolio with three key additions targeting large-scale agentic AI inference. The Bravera SC6 PCIe 6.0 SSD controller doubles performance over its predecessor and offloads KV cache to SSDs with reduced write amplification. The Structera X CXL memory expansion family enables larger memory pools and more efficient resource sharing for memory-intensive workloads. Finally, Photonic Fabric memory modules and chiplets form a pod-level optical shared-memory architecture supporting up to 32 TB of warm KV cache, memory sharing across XPUs and racks up to 50 meters, and 2–3x higher token throughput within existing power and space constraints. The Bravera SC6 is expected to begin sampling in Q4 2026.

## Questions this post answers

### What does the Marvell Bravera SC6 PCIe 6.0 SSD controller improve over the SC5?

The Bravera SC6 PCIe 6.0 SSD controller doubles performance compared to the previous Bravera SC5 PCIe 5.0 controller, while also reducing write amplification and extending NAND endurance. Its NAND-agnostic architecture supports flash memory from multiple suppliers, giving hyperscale operators flexibility when deploying and scaling storage. It is designed to offload larger portions of the KV cache from high-bandwidth memory to SSDs.

### How far can Marvell Photonic Fabric optical shared memory reach across a data center, and how much KV cache does it support?

Marvell Photonic Fabric enables memory sharing across multiple XPUs and racks over distances of up to 50 meters and supports up to 32 TB of warm KV cache. The architecture delivers high-bandwidth, low-latency access to shared memory and can achieve 2–3x higher token throughput within existing data center power and space constraints, supporting larger AI models and longer context windows.
