MCP co-creator David Soria Parra revealed the protocol now sees over 110M SDK downloads per month and achieved in 16 months what React took 3 years to reach. The MCP specification roadmap includes stateless transport, task primitives, enterprise authentication with cross-org SSO, triggers, skills, and SDK v2 for Python and TypeScript. Key challenges being addressed include context bloat and composability.
