Web scraping bots are targeting e-commerce sites to monitor DDR5 DRAM inventory, hitting product pages nearly 6x more frequently than legitimate users. The bots use cache-busting techniques and AI-assisted anti-bot evasion to gather real-time stock data, enabling scalpers to snap up scarce memory for resale. DDR5 has been in short supply since November 2025 due to surging demand from hyperscalers and AI infrastructure buildouts, with prices expected to double in Q1 2026. The bot campaign, identified by DataDome's Galileo threat team after over 10 million scraping requests, is worsening the supply crunch for consumers and smaller cloud vendors.
