Workers want Micron to replace its discretionary Incentive Pay Plan with a fixed profit-sharing formula similar to Samsung's 10.5% and SK hynix's 10% of profits allocated to bonuses. Micron's bonuses are capped at 200% of target (about five months' salary) but have averaged only 2.6 months. Mediation is scheduled for late August and mid-September, with a strike vote possible in September if talks fail.
