Microsoft Copilot keeps reinstalling itself after Windows updates, but a newly introduced Group Policy setting allows permanent removal. For Windows 11 Pro/Education/Enterprise users, the policy is found in Group Policy Editor under User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows AI. Home edition users can achieve the same result via a registry tweak or a PowerShell command that sets the RemoveMicrosoftCopilotApp DWORD value to 1. The policy only applies if Copilot was pre-installed (not user-installed) and hasn't been launched in the last 28 days.
