Midjourney V8 is now available on the alpha platform at alpha.midjourney.com. Key improvements include ~5x faster generation, native 2K resolution via --hd flag, better prompt comprehension for colors/lighting/textures, and improved in-image text rendering. Three core style tools are highlighted: Style Creator (builds custom --sref codes through iterative image selection), --sref (style references from existing images), and Moodboards (blending multiple references). Style references now default to --sv 7, which is 4x faster and cheaper. Best practices include using detailed descriptive prompts, enabling personalization with --stylize 1000, and using --raw for photorealistic output. A prompt template is provided for getting started.
