Years ago, Xamarin contributed and developed libraries for 2D gaming capabilities. They looked into Urho and Godot as contenders for 3D gaming capabilities. After working with Urho, the maintainer stepped down and Godot became popular. Now, there is a patch under review to embed Godot scenes into apps.
