The MIPI Alliance has launched the MIPI A-PHY Compliance Program, the first formal compliance framework for an automotive SerDes standard. It provides automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and semiconductor vendors a standardized way to validate conformance to the MIPI A-PHY specification, which supports high-speed data transmission up to 15 meters for ADAS, automated driving, and software-defined vehicle architectures. Testing initially focuses on physical-layer compliance, with future phases covering link and protocol adaptation layers. BitifEye Digital Test Solutions has been appointed as the authorized test laboratory. The program's practical value was demonstrated at AutoSens USA 2026, where Sony, Southchip, Valens, and Velinktech showcased the first four-company A-PHY interoperability demonstration.
