# MIT scientists use a new type of nanoparticle to make vaccines more powerful

## Summary

Scientists at MIT have demonstrated that metal organic frameworks (MOFs) can provoke a strong immune response and act as adjuvants in vaccines. The study focused on a MOF called ZIF-8 and showed that it could successfully deliver part of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Further research is needed to evaluate the safety and scalability of MOFs as vaccine carriers.
