<p>Nothing has changed about software engineering. We accelerated the code generation part (the wrong part, really) and left the rest of the pipeline broken. I love code generation as much as the next person, but that is only one benefit these systems provide, and its not even their best one. Using them with the Socratic Method for tutoring, exploration and tutorials, as well as a “delegation layer” is highly effective and you don’t experience the burnout. I hope once the dust settles, we align on a more balanced approach with these tools, because <em>nothing is actually getting better</em>.</p>
