Moltbook, a viral AI agent social network with 770,000+ users, suffered a major database breach allowing anyone to hijack agents with shell access to owners' machines. Security researchers found over 4,500 exposed OpenClaw instances globally, with vulnerabilities including prompt injection attacks, malicious skills exfiltrating API keys and credentials, and insecure design allowing direct shell command execution. The platform stores credentials in plaintext, runs with elevated privileges without sandboxing, and has exposed admin dashboards. Researchers recommend rotating all API keys, logging out messaging sessions, and treating affected machines as compromised.
