He will work alongside chief compute officer Tom Brown on securing and scaling AI compute infrastructure. Anthropic has committed to deploying up to one million Google TPUs, over a gigawatt of capacity this year, and a separate deal adding 3.5 gigawatts of next-gen chips from 2027. The hire is part of Anthropic's aggressive 2026 talent push, which also brought in Andrej Karpathy and Nobel laureate John Jumper.
