Multimaterial SLA Printer Will Make Your Head Spin

Polysynth, a startup led by Eric, has developed a multimaterial SLA resin printer featuring a carousel of up to eight resin tanks. To prevent cross-contamination between materials, the printer uses centrifugal force — spinning the print at high speed to fling off uncured resin between dips. The key engineering challenge is stopping the spin at a precise orientation (within microns), solved via a kinematic linkage and servo. Demonstrated use cases include multilayer PCBs using conductive resin and dental applications like printing full dentures in one pass. The product is not yet available for purchase.
