**[Hacker News](https://daily.dev/sources/hn)** · 1 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

A developer shares progress on porting Haiku OS to arm64 architecture, with the long-term goal of running it on an M1 MacBook Air. Known issues include at least one kernel crash and some double frees. Software port compatibility also needs work. Instructions for bootstrapping Haiku to try it are referenced.
