Nava, a Brazilian data infrastructure company, migrated ELO's payment monitoring platform from Elasticsearch to ClickHouse, processing 22 million daily transactions. The migration reduced storage from 12TB to 2TB, cut annual infrastructure costs by 87% (from R$900,000 to R$120,000), and achieved sub-2-second end-to-end latency for 300 real-time dashboards refreshing every 5 seconds. Key optimizations included ZSTD/LZ4 compression, LowCardinality data types, materialized views, and projections. The cluster runs on Kubernetes using the Altinity operator across two data centers. The switch from EQL to standard SQL also democratized dashboard creation for non-specialist analysts.
