# Neighborhood Bulletin Boards, Circa 1982

**[Hackaday](https://daily.dev/sources/hackaday)** · 2 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

CABLE 82 is an open-source Raspberry Pi project that recreates the look and feel of 1980s cable TV bulletin board channels. Using custom software, it generates a 4:3 video feed styled after character-generator-based community bulletin boards, complete with scrolling local news and elevator music. It supports both HDMI and composite video output for use with period-appropriate CRT displays, and all project files are available on GitHub.
