Existing iPad and iPhone versions of apps like Podcasts, News, Calendar, and Reminders will be available, but major companies like Netflix and YouTube have chosen not to develop native apps for the device. Netflix, in particular, confirms that users will have to resort to watching content through a web browser. This raises concerns about resolution and immersion. The lack of app customization for Vision Pro can be attributed to various factors - limited supply of headsets for testing, the device's higher price point, and Apple's recent antitrust lawsuit and developer-hostile attitude. As a result, only around 150 apps have been updated specifically for the Vision Pro in its App Store. However, there are still some notable brands and apps, such as Box, Carrot Weather, Webex, Zoom, and Fantastical, that have developed specifically for the headset. Despite Netflix and YouTube's absence, other app makers are debating whether to release a Vision Pro app. Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp may also be staying away, while TikTok, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video are set to offer entertainment experiences on the headset.
