# New Brave Origin premium experience offers users a minimalist version of the Brave browser

## Summary

Brave has launched Brave Origin, a paid minimalist version of the Brave browser priced at a one-time $59.99 purchase (free on Linux). It strips out non-core features like Leo AI, VPN, Rewards, Wallet, Tor, and others, while retaining Brave's core privacy protections including ad and tracker blocking via Brave Shields. It's available either as a standalone app or as an upgrade to the existing Brave browser. Privacy during purchase is maintained via a blind token protocol based on Privacy Pass, decoupling payment identity from usage. The existing free Brave browser remains unchanged and fully supported.
