However, a recent collaboration between Forest Neurotech and Butterfly Network is developing a BCI that uses ultrasound instead of electricity to interface with the brain. This ultrasound-based BCI has several benefits, including flexible targeting of specific brain regions and accurate recording and stimulation. By using ultrasound chips, Forest Neurotech aims to stimulate and record neural activity with sub-millimeter accuracy.
