New patches enable HDMI Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode for AMD's open-source Linux GPU driver. The patches address VRR detection issues with monitors using GTF flags, parse HDMI gaming features, reintroduce HF-VSIF and VTEM info packets, and add support for DisplayPort-to-HDMI PCON configurations. These improvements work around previous HDMI Forum restrictions by using publicly available code and knowledge.
