Dagster has released a new dagster-openai integration that allows data practitioners to embed OpenAI API calls directly into their data pipelines. The integration includes an OpenAIResource and a with_usage_metadata function to track and optimize API usage and costs. Both Dagster Cloud and open-source users can monitor consumption, with Cloud users getting additional analytics via Dagster Insights. Use cases include document summarization, sentiment classification, and language translation within pipelines.
