OpenAI is launching three new education plugins for ChatGPT Work and Codex targeting K–12 educators, college educators, and college students. The plugins integrate with existing course materials, calendars, and approved tools to help teachers plan lessons, design courses, and help students build personalized study experiences. Available through ChatGPT Edu and ChatGPT for Teachers district deployments, the plugins are designed to reduce setup friction and leverage agentic AI capabilities within institution-managed, privacy-compliant environments. OpenAI also announced the OpenAI Student Collective, free in-person workshops for K–12 teachers via the Walton Family Foundation, and a ChatGPT for Academic Researchers program offering 12 months of free Pro-level access.
