Node.js 24.18.0 LTS ('Krypton') has been released with several notable changes: updated root certificates to NSS 3.123.1, a fix to avoid stream listeners on idle HTTP agent sockets, an increase of Buffer.poolSize default to 64 KiB, new TurboSHAKE and KangarooTwelve Web Cryptography algorithms, support for arbitrary 1xx HTTP status codes via writeInformation, and exposure of precise coverage start to the JS runtime via the inspector. The release also includes numerous crypto hardening improvements (WebCrypto prototype pollution protection, BoringSSL compatibility, ML-DSA/ML-KEM JWK support), npm upgraded to 11.16.0, SQLite updated to 3.53.1, multiple test runner fixes, and various bug fixes across streams, HTTP/2, REPL, and modules.
