The system runs radio access networks on AI chips rather than fixed hardware, promising over 20% spectral efficiency gains now, 50% by 2027, and more than 100% by 2028. Pilots begin later this year with a commercial launch in 2027. Nokia plans to shift to a software subscription model rather than hardware replacements. The partnership stems from Nvidia's $1bn stake in Nokia taken last October.
