The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) announced that the National Science Foundation renewed its funding for four more years, extending CCC's visioning activities through 2030. CCC connects academia, industry, and government to identify future computing research challenges through workshops, reports, white papers, RFI responses, Community Chats, Medium posts, and Blue Sky Ideas track sponsorships at conferences. Upcoming projects under the new award include a Full Stack Sustainability workshop in Austin, TX, co-sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society, and an October 2026 Community Chat on computing's energy demands versus its sustainability contributions. Future visioning topics include agentic AI for hardware design and quantum computing.
