Nuxt 4.5 · Nuxt Blog

Nuxt 4.5 is a major release featuring Vite 8 integration with Rolldown-powered internals, Rspack 2 rebuilt on Rsbuild, and experimental SSR streaming that flushes the HTML shell immediately to improve Time to First Byte. New developer-facing additions include a stable error code system (e.g. NUXT_E1001) with inline explanations and docs links, a useLayout composable for reactively reading the current route's layout, named views via filename convention (child@sidebar.vue), and an enabled option for useFetch/useAsyncData to gate conditional fetches. Performance improvements include a shared file watcher, faster dev startup, leaner production builds, and forwarded preload hints on prefetch. Nuxt 3 reaches end-of-life on July 31, 2026, and this release also lays groundwork for Nuxt 5 by upgrading unhead v3, unctx v3, and switching the framework build to tsdown.
