NVIDIA Alpamayo 2 Super, the Frontier Open Model for Robotaxis and Autonomous Vehicles, Now Available for Commercial Use

NVIDIA has released Alpamayo 2 Super, a frontier open reasoning model for autonomous vehicles and robotaxis, now available for commercial use under the OpenMDW-1.1 license. Built on NVIDIA Cosmos 3 Super Reasoner and post-trained with reinforcement learning, the 30B-parameter model tops the LingoQA autonomous driving benchmark, outperforming Gemini 2.5 Pro and GPT-4o by significant margins. It produces five coupled outputs per driving scenario: planned trajectory, chain-of-causation reasoning traces, meta-actions, reasoning auto-labels, and visual question answering with 2D grounding. The model supports a cloud-to-car workflow — frontier-scale reasoning in the cloud for synthetic data generation and model distillation, with distilled models deployed efficiently in production vehicles. It integrates with NVIDIA Halos safety-validation workflows and ISO/PAS 8800 requirements. The broader Alpamayo ecosystem includes AlpaSim for closed-loop simulation, AlpaGym for reinforcement learning, and open datasets, with the model family surpassing 500,000 downloads on Hugging Face.
