The two companies plan to industrialize robotics by moving from lab to factory floor, using Hyundai's manufacturing scale to build globally scalable platforms. Boston Dynamics' Atlas humanoid robot is the flagship example, with Hyundai targeting mass production of up to 30,000 units annually by 2028. Central to the deal is Hyundai's $5.9bn 'AI Valley' project in Saemangeum, which would include an AI data centre expected to run on tens of thousands of Nvidia Blackwell GPUs.
