Jensen Huang personally attended the commissioning alongside Admiral Samuel Paparo. The system packs 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs and 36 Grace CPUs in a single liquid-cooled rack, estimated at roughly $15 million. The donation bypassed standard defense procurement by going through the NPS Foundation. The school plans to use it for weather prediction, ocean modelling, cybersecurity research, disaster-response planning, and building maritime digital twins via Nvidia's Omniverse platform. NPS also intends to train its own foundation models, including an internal system called NPS GPT.
