The module delivers up to 25x the AI compute of an H100 and targets use cases like geospatial intelligence processing and autonomous space operations. Nvidia also highlighted its IGX Thor and Jetson Orin platforms for spacecraft edge computing. The announcement comes amid growing industry interest in orbital datacenters, though analysts like Gartner's Bill Ray have called the trend 'peak insanity' due to prohibitive launch costs and cooling challenges. Several companies including Aetherflux and Axiom Space are already using Nvidia platforms for space missions, with Aetherflux planning to launch a datacenter satellite in early 2027.
