NVIDIA's Vera CPU, featuring 88 custom Olympus cores based on Armv9.2, has received its first public benchmark results from Phoronix. The CPU delivers 1.2 TB/s of memory bandwidth via LPDDR5X, sustaining 90% of peak bandwidth in STREAM TRIAD tests — the highest percentage of any CPU Phoronix has tested. Vera outperformed a 128-core x86 processor by 1.5x overall and compiled a Linux kernel in 20 seconds. Compared to the prior-generation Grace CPU, Vera shows a 1.6x generational improvement. Phoronix founder Michael Larabel called it the most formidable ARM competition to Intel and AMD x86 processors ever realized. Vera is being delivered to early customers and will be available from partners in the second half of the year.
