OpenChoreo is positioned as a platform where humans interact via Developer Portal, CLI, and APIs, while AI agents use MCP, APIs, and agent skills against the same underlying abstractions and guardrails. The pitch is that IDPs are evolving into an operating layer connecting developers, platform teams, infrastructure, and AI agents, with links to OpenChoreo's architecture docs, AI integration guide, MCP servers reference, and a quick-start guide. ## Content Internal Developer Platforms have traditionally been designed around the developer experience. Portal → CLI → API → Platform. But as AI agents become more involved in software delivery and operations, the platform has another type of user to think about. **AI agents need platform capabilities too.** They need controlled ways to understand applications, trigger workflows, inspect environments, query observability data and interact with infrastructure. The interesting part is that we don't necessarily need a completely separate platform for them. With OpenChoreo, human developers can interact with the platform through interfaces such as the **Developer Portal, CLI and APIs**, while AI assistants can interact with the same underlying platform capabilities through **MCP, APIs and agent skills**. Different interfaces. **Same platform foundation.** **Same abstractions.** **Same guardrails.** This is why I think the next generation of Internal Developer Platforms won't just be developer platforms.
