Opera has launched Paste Protect, a browser security feature that blocks ClickFix-style attacks. ClickFix tricks users into copying malicious commands to their clipboard and executing them in a terminal, often delivering infostealer malware. Paste Protect combines existing Hijack protection with a new Injection protection component to scan clipboard content for malicious patterns on Windows, macOS, and Linux. When a threat is detected, the copy action is blocked, a warning popup appears, and a red indicator shows in the address bar. Users can view the first 120 characters of blocked content and approve it after a 5-second delay. Developers can whitelist trusted sites like GitHub. The feature is enabled by default and configurable via Settings → Privacy & Security → Paste Protect.
