Oura has announced the Ring 5, its fifth-generation smart ring, starting at $399. The ring is 40% smaller than the Ring 4, with a redesigned architecture covering mechanical, electrical, optical, battery, and sensing components. Battery life improves to 6–9 days (up from 5–8), and sensors have been reengineered for better accuracy across skin tones and finger sizes. Alongside the hardware, Oura is launching 'Health Radar' software with Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing features, live activity tracking, GLP-1 medication insights, a Brain Health Study, and an on-demand care partnership with Counsel Health that connects users to licensed physicians via AI for an additional fee. The Ring 5 is available for pre-order now and begins shipping June 4, with the launch timed one day before rival RingConn's Gen 3 starts shipping.
