Pasqal, through its Canadian subsidiary Aeponyx, has launched a Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Packaging Center of Competency at C2MI in Bromont, Quebec. The initiative, backed by $7.9 million in funding (including $3 million from NGen), brings together Aeponyx, HOP Technologies, Phantom Photonics, and C2MI to develop standardized PIC packaging processes for quantum and advanced sensing applications. The first phase targets low-volume manufacturing of thousands of devices, with a second phase aiming to scale to over 500,000 PIC modules annually. The center is strategically important to Pasqal's neutral-atom quantum computing roadmap, addressing a key bottleneck in scaling PIC-based quantum hardware by establishing a domestic Canadian supply chain.
