Spanish launch company PLD Space has announced a €35m investment in its MIURA 5 launch complex at the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, France. Of the total, €22m will be spent within the French industrial ecosystem, with €13m going directly to over 20 companies in French Guiana. Civil works are in their final phase, with completion expected by summer 2026, and a first MIURA 5 orbital launch from Kourou remains on track for 2026. PLD Space claims to be the first private operator to commit capital expenditure at this scale to the ELM-Diamant site, framing the investment as a step toward European sovereign access to space.
