PostgreSQL 19 Beta 2 Released!

The PostgreSQL Global Development Group has released PostgreSQL 19 Beta 2, available for download ahead of the expected general availability around September/October 2026. This beta includes fixes and changes such as improvements to vacuumdb --analyze-in-stages for partitioned tables, fixes to pg_createsubscriber, REPACK worker cleanup on FATAL exit, FOR PORTION OF temporal table syntax, max_retention_duration, md5_password_warnings, pg_dumpall, ALTER DOMAIN ... VALIDATE CONSTRAINT, and postgres_fdw handling of imported foreign-table statistics. The community is encouraged to test the beta against typical workloads and report bugs, though running it in production is not advised.
