Key tasks included freeing a completely seized damper shaft (which had to be replaced with a manufactured replica), fitting cast-iron ash boxes, inspecting automatic sprinkler stokers, replacing missing furnace doors with replicas, and refurbishing surrounding pipework and brickwork.
