Proton Drive has rolled out a major SDK-driven update that significantly boosts performance: uploads are up to 3x faster and downloads up to 2x faster across all platforms. The encryption overhaul moves to a newer OpenPGP implementation with hardware acceleration, cutting encryption time for a 4MB file from 97ms to 32ms on mobile. All platforms now share a single codebase, meaning improvements deploy simultaneously everywhere. Proton also confirmed that a native Linux client is now in active development, built from scratch on the shared SDK, meaning it won't lag behind other platforms at launch.
