Known as 'ClickFix' or fake CAPTCHA scams, these attacks instruct victims to open Windows Run, paste commands, scan QR codes, or download files — actions no real CAPTCHA requires. The attack exploits years of user conditioning to comply with verification prompts, making the victim the unwitting malware installer without needing any software exploit. Beyond consumer risk, a compromised device can escalate into corporate intrusion or confidentiality breaches.
