Every account can create a personal access token from Settings, with 200 free requests per month (higher limits for Plus). The release includes new quests and achievements, out-of-the-box integrations for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and OpenClaw, and five step-by-step guides covering authentication, building a terminal client, a morning-briefing agent, bookmark organization, and using the API as an alternative to web search. Non-Plus API access is in beta with limits subject to change. ## Content When we [shipped the Public API](https://daily.dev/posts/you-asked-for-an-api-we-finally-built-one--ceq9yxiki), it was v1 and it was for Plus users only. We said we were already thinking about what came next. This is it: every daily.dev account can now create a personal access token and start building. ## Here's what's new - **A token for every account.** Head to [Settings → API Access](https://daily.dev/settings/api), create one, and you're in. No subscription needed. - **200 requests every month for free (higher limits for Plus users)** Enough for an agent that checks your feed each morning, searches when you ask it something, and saves the odd post for later. - **Quests and achievements for building with it.** Because shipping your first API call deserves more than a 200 response. Everything from v1 is still there: your personalized feed, bookmarks, search, posts with their AI summaries and comment threads, your profile and tech stack. Every response is JSON, cursor-paginated, and shaped for machines first. ## Still built for how developers actually work The out-of-the-box integrations for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and OpenClaw are now open to everyone too. Since there is a lot of service abuse online, we are taking it slowly and we will look into adjusting the limits in the future as we roll out this feature. If you see value in API access, [daily.dev Plus](https://daily.dev/plus) comes with much higher rate limits by default and unlocks the Plus-only endpoints, including custom feeds, bookmark folders and clickbait-shielded titles. --- Go build something and tell us about it!
