QTREX, an Israeli deep tech company, is targeting the quantum computing interconnect bottleneck — the 'I/O wall' — rather than qubit counts. Superconducting quantum systems require hand-built cryogenic wiring that becomes unscalable beyond a few hundred qubits. QTREX uses Additively Manufactured Electronics (AME), a multi-material 3D printing platform, to replace assembled cable bundles with single integrated structures at micron-level precision, achieving roughly 20 fully shielded conductors per square centimeter. The company has signed a joint development agreement with Qarakal Quantum, entered a technical evaluation with one of the top five global quantum computing companies, and has a Tier-1 US defense customer and a Magnificent Seven tech company as early adopters. The thesis mirrors how AI infrastructure value accrued to chip and interconnect makers rather than model builders.
