Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C, a new chip targeting budget Windows laptops in the $300 price range. Unlike the Snapdragon X series, it uses Kryo cores (not custom Oryon cores), is based on a mobile chip, and notably does not support Copilot+ — making it the first Qualcomm computing chip without that capability. Qualcomm has withheld most specs including core count and clock speed. The author argues that $300 Windows laptops have always been poor value and are getting worse due to rising component costs, particularly memory shortages driving up prices across the board.
