# Rearrange the Array

**[C\# Corner](https://daily.dev/sources/csharpcorner)** · 3 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

A walkthrough of how to find the minimum number of operations to restore a permutation array to its original state. The key insight is that any permutation decomposes into disjoint cycles, and each cycle returns to its original position after exactly its length number of operations. The answer is the LCM of all cycle lengths, computed in O(n) time using a visited array and the Euclidean GCD algorithm. Java implementation with dry run, correctness proof, and complexity analysis are included.
