# Regional inference now available on AI Gateway

## Summary

Vercel's AI Gateway now supports regional inference, allowing developers to pin requests to US or EU data centers via a single `inferenceRegion` field. Requests fail closed if the specified region cannot be honored, and every response reports the actual region used. This replaces the need to configure regional routing separately per provider, simplifying compliance with data residency requirements. Regional pricing is passed through from providers (typically ~10% above standard) with no additional markup.
