Godot Engine has released the first release candidate for version 4.7.2, a maintenance update following the 4.7.1 release. The RC includes 43 improvements from 37 contributors, focusing primarily on regression fixes. Notable critical fixes include: preventing multiple main threads from being created, fixing high-polling-rate mouse performance issues on Windows, and ensuring mbedTLS always uses Godot's OS as entropy source. Other fixes address 3D tooling, input handling (Wayland IME, simultaneous shift release), multiplayer replication, navigation debug colors, and rendering (PCSS shadows). The release is available as standard and .NET builds, with web, XR, and Android editor variants also available for testing.
